DescriptionPearl Mist & Geysir at Shelburne Shipyard.jpg
English: Shelburne NS Shipyard
The white ship is "Pearl Mist". In January 2008, the folks behind small-ship line American Cruise Lines announced the formation of a new cruise venture called Pearl Seas Cruises, which was to begin worldwide service in 2009 with a brand-new, all-suite ship called Pearl Mist.
Then problems began to surface. In May 2009, the ship's sea trials ended with the line claiming that deficiencies had been uncovered that required the cancellation of its planned inaugural season. The rest of 2009 came and went, ditto for 2010, 2011 and 2012. Pearl Seas is suing Irving for some $60 million.
The ship on the right is "MV Geysir". It is a U.S.-flagged general cargo/container ship owned by TransAtlantic Lines LLC. Originally named Amazonia, the 90-meter ship was built by American Atlantic Shipping in 1980 to serve a route from the United States to Brazil. The ship is now used to carry cargo to U.S. activities in the Azores.
