Description Portland, Oregon in 1898. Per [1] this is a view of "Downtown Portland and the West Hills", which seems accurate. The city's tallest building at the time was The Oregonian Building, located in the center of this photograph.[1] Print mounted on board; sheet 11 x 19 cm. on board 14.7 x 23 cm[2] 59187 U.S. Copyright Office.
