Summary

Description
English: Portrait of William Clark attributed to John Wesley Jarvis. Clark and Meriwether Lewis led an expedition across the Louisiana Puchase to the Pacific Ocean in 1803-1805. Later Clark served as the governor of the Missouri Territory and Superintendent of Indian Affairs. Also large, rectangular wood frame (b), painted gold and decorated with flourishes original to the painting.
