Summary

Description
English: Railway Station, Shrewsbury This tank train, headed by Class 20159 and 20158, has arrived from the direction of Upton Magna and has crossed the Church Stretton tracks. Class 20s normally run in pairs, bonnet to bonnet. 228 were built by English Electric between 1957 and 1968 to replace less reliable locomotives. A favourite with enthusiasts, they were employed to run specials to Skeggie. At Sheffield, I once recorded three running in multiple on a special to Brighton. Most have been withdrawn, but several have been preserved. In the background is Shrewsbury Abbey which was founded by Roger de Montgomery, a relative of William the Conqueror, in 1083.
