Français : L’image représente un événement de la Guerre de Succession de Bretagne : la fin du siège Champtoceaux en 1420. Sur l'image en haut à gauche, Marguerite qui aspire au titre de duchesse de Bretagne et qui a capturé le duc. Après un siège de l’armée bretonne qui dura trois mois le duc Jean V est libéré (en bas au centre de l'image). On voit un trône vide à droit de l'image. Le Duc fit ensuite raser le château et la ville.
English: The image depicts an event from the War of the Breton Succession : the end of the Siege of Champtoceaux in 1420. In the top left corner, Marguerite, who aspires to the title of Duchess of Brittany and who captured the duke. After a three-month siege by the Breton army, Duke John V is freed (bottom center of the image). An empty throne can be seen on the right of the image. The Duke then razed the castle and the town.
