Summary
DescriptionRock carving karpokhar suru valley.jpg |
English: A giant Roack Carving (Chamba) of Lord Budha in Suru Valley Kargil at Karpokhar Vilage, 50 kms from kargil town in Itchu Lungma.
The Giant 40 ft Chamba is the most beautiful of the three Chambas located in Kargil District and such Budhist art is not found anywhere else. Perhaps the Bamiyan statues of Afghanistan share the same page. |
