Summary

Description
English: The Teesta Barrage, built on the Teesta River in northern Bangladesh, is a major structure of the Teesta Irrigation Project. It is the largest irrigation project in Bangladesh. Under this, irrigation facilities are provided in 5 lakh 40 thousand hectares of land in Nilphamari, Rangpur and Dinajpur districts.

Now, Teesta Barrage has become one of the tourist centers of Lalmonirhat and Nilphamari district. Entertainment spots are built around this barrage and irrigation project. The dammed artificial water bodies upstream of the barrage, canals, forestry and stone banks all together create a pleasant environment that attracts the visitors.

The picture was taken from Hatibandha in Lalmonirhat and Dimla in Nilphamari, Bangladesh.
