English: This map is wrong. The Bigorre is to the MAS; the Rouergue instead of Quercy; Périgord instead of the Limousin; and Calais instead of Dunkirk.
Français : Cette carte est fausse. La Bigorre est au MAS, le Rouergue, au lieu du Quercy, Périgord, au lieu du Limousin, et Calais, au lieu de Dunkerque.
Cette carte est fausse pour d'autres raisons aussi: elle ne donne en bleu que les territoires du domaine royal du royaume de France. La Bretagne ou la Guyenne restent des territoires dont le roi de France est le suzerain; elles font donc partie du royaume de France sans faire partie du domaine royal direct (ce qui est tout simplement la règle générale du monde médiéval, la constitution d'états intégrés étant une des caractéristiques de la fin de la féodalité). Cette distorsion est néanmoins très fréquente et donne une fausse idée des rapports de force de l'époque. Dans l'autre sens, le roi de France possède aussi des terres au sein du Saint Empire Romain Germanique (ce qui fera par la suite de François Ier un candidat au titre d'empereur par exemple). Autre erreur sur la carte, le Béarn n'est pas concerné par le traité. Il est neutre dans la guerre de cent ans, ce qui fait de lui une souveraineté indépendante (à partir de 1347). |
