Summary
| Description |
English: Firstly, Hanoi is the third most polluted city in the world. The haze you see here (even after processing) is photochemical smog. It is not helped by the 8 million scooters used by the City's 9 million population and the more or less complete lack of clean green transportation.
Having said all that, Noi Bai airport does see some interesting flights, especially from Laos and Myanmar, so it is worth persevering with the atrocious conditions. At one point the far runway disappeared in the smog! Highlights are the stored Ilyushin IL-18 of Vietnam Airlines and the abandoned Royal Khmer Boeing 727-200 - incidentally it is up for sale (March 2025) for US $74000! |
