Deutsch: Der schreitende Löwe stammt aus der Heraldik des Domkapitels Eichstätt, das bis zur Säkularisation 1803 als Grundherrschaft in Eitensheim eine Rolle spielte. Eitensheim gehörte als großer Meierhof wohl schon zur Grundausstattung der Eichstätter Bischofskirche im 8. Jahrhundert und wird als Itensheim 908 erstmals genannt. Das Gemeindegebiet unterstand bis Anfang des 19. Jahrhunderts der Landesherrschaft des Hochstifts Eichstätt. Das Andreaskreuz im Schildhaupt versinnbildlicht das Patrozinium der zwischen 1182 und 1197 vom Eichstätter Bischof geweihten Pfarrkirche. |
