Flag of North Korea
The flag of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, also known as the Ramhongsaek Konghwagukgi (literally "red-colored flag of the republic"), has a central red panel, bordered both above and below by a narrow white stripe and a broad blue stripe.[1][2] The central red panel has a five-pointed red star in a white circle near the left side.[1][2]
Meaning
According to the CIA World Factbook:[2]
- The red band stands for the country's revolutionary traditions
- The red star represents socialism
- The white symbolizes purity, strength, and dignity
- The blue stands for sovereignty, peace, and friendship
