Florian Semani
Florian Semani (born 2 July 1981) is an Albanian economist and public official. From March 2025 to July 2025, he has served as the Deputy Minister of Finance of Albania.[1][2]

Education
Semani studied economics and mathematics at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, Canada, with a full scholarship. He later earned a PhD in economics from New York University, where he focused on macroeconomics and financial economics. During his time there, he studied under Nobel Prize-winning economist Thomas J. Sargent.[3][4]
Career
Before becoming Deputy Minister, Semani worked as a senior economist at the United States Department of the Treasury from August 2024 to February 2025. His work involved corporate audits and tax investigations related to the Internal Revenue Service, including cases at the United States Tax Court.
Earlier, he was a manager at Andersen Tax USA, where he worked on international tax planning and transfer pricing. He also taught as an adjunct lecturer at New York University, offering courses such as International Economics, Macroeconomics, Industrial Organization, and Applied Game Theory.
