Focus

Focus is a Latin word for hearth. In English it means many things.

• Focus (geometry), one of the two points around which a conic section is built
• Focus (optics), the bringing together of light rays by a lens
• Ford Focus, a car
• The hypocenter of an earthquake
• The place where a nuclear explosion goes off
