Fred Dean
Frederick Rudolph Dean (February 24, 1952 – October 14, 2020) was an American former professional football player. He was a defensive end in the National Football League (NFL). He was a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

His career started with the San Diego Chargers in 1975 and ended with the San Francisco 49ers after the 1985 season. A two-time first-team All-Pro and a four-time Pro Bowler, he won two Super Bowls with the 49ers.
On October 8, 2020, Dean was diagnosed with COVID-19 and hospitalized in West Monroe, Louisiana.[1] He died a few days later on October 14 while being airlifted from West Monroe to Jackson, Mississippi at the age of 68.[2]
