Fredric Sheldon Brandt (June 26, 1949 – April 5, 2015) was an American physician, researcher, lecturer, author, and radio host. He was known for using the first botulinum toxin ("botox") and fillers.[1] Brandt was also known for his role[2] in the FDA approval of numerous fillers and botulinum toxins for cosmetic use in the United States.

Brandt committed suicide by hanging himself on April 5, 2015 in his home in Coconut Grove, Florida, aged 65.[3][4] His publicist reported that he had been suffering from depression.[5]
