Gary Friedrich (/ˈfrdrɪk/; August 21, 1943 – August 28, 2018) was an American comic book writer. He was best known for his Silver Age stories for Marvel Comics' Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos, and, in the following era, for the series The Monster of Frankenstein.

He was also known for co-creating the supernatural motorcyclist the Ghost Rider and the supernatural hero the Son of Satan.

Friedrich died from complications of Parkinson's disease on August 28, 2018 in Hillsboro, Missouri, aged 75.[1]
