Gifford Pinchot National Forest

Gifford Pinchot National Forest with view of Mt. Adams

The Gifford Pinchot National Forest is a United States National Forest in Washington, USA. It has 1,300,000 acres (5,300 km²) of land. The forest includes the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, which takes up 110,000 acres (450 km²) of the property.

  Located southeast of Randle, Washington, the cave is accessed via a 1/4 mile trail. Layser Cave was once used as shelter and as a hunting station for Indigenous people, with archaeological evidence going back 7,000 years.
