Grandma Lee

Frances Lee Strong[1] (May 29, 1934 – April 24, 2020),[2] better known by her stage name Grandma Lee, was an American stand-up comedian. Lee was a contestant on the fourth season of America's Got Talent. She was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In 2009, she participated on the reality series America's Got Talent. Although she made it to the top 10, she was in the bottom 5 and was eliminated from the competition in the finale on September 16, 2009. She told People, "[My] material is based on the truth. I won’t say a cuss word or anything to jeopardize [myself]. I can do clean or edgy."[3]

Strong died on April 24, 2020 at an assisted living facility in Jacksonville, Florida from problems caused by a broken hip, aged 85.[4]
