Great Central Railway
The Great Central Railway (GCR) of England was created in 1897 when the Manchester, Sheffield and Lincolnshire Railway changed its name. In 1899, the GCR opened its London Extension to a new terminus at Marylebone station.
On 1 January 1923, the company became part of the London and North Eastern Railway under the Railways Act 1921.

No. 63601, the sole surviving GCR Class 8K locomotive
Built in 1905, this coach formed the end of many GCR and LNER suburban trains (of which three other suburban coaches of GCR origin survive). It was preserved in 2004 by the Great Central Railway and placed on a stronger underframe of an LMS brake coach. It is now awaiting a major restoration. The numbers are theorized to be No.575, 580, 585, 590 or 592.
