Greater Manchester Combined Authority
Greater Manchester Combined Authority has 11 members: the ten local council leaders and the Mayor of Greater Manchester as the eleventh member. It is the local government for Greater Manchester. The first since the Greater Manchester County Council was closed in 1986. It was set up in 2011.[1]
It has powers over public transport, skills, housing, regeneration, waste management, carbon neutrality and planning permissions.
It runs Transport for Greater Manchester.
