Guymon, Oklahoma
Guymon is a city in Oklahoma in the United States. It is the largest city in the Oklahoma Panhandle, which is the western tip of Oklahoma that sticks out. It is the county seat of Texas County.
History
The area was settled in the 1890s. The city was incorporated in 1901, originally as Sanford. It was renamed a month later to avoid confusion with another city with a similar name. It became the country seat of Texas county in 1907, when Oklahoma became a state.
The town was hit by Black Sunday (storm) on April 14, 1935.
