Hans Lipershey

Hans Lippershey (1570 – buried 29 September 1619), was a German-Dutch spectacle-maker. He is known as the first person to build a telescope, although this is not clear who built the telescope.^[1]

How to spell the name

English speakers spell "Lippershey." German and Dutch speakers spell "Lipperhey."
