Hayford Peirce
Hayford Peirce (January 7, 1942 – November 19, 2020) was an American writer of science fiction, mysteries, and spy thrillers. He wrote many short stories for the science-fiction magazines Analog, Galaxy, and Omni.

He also wrote mystery short stories for Alfred Hitchcock's Mystery Magazine and Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine.
Peirce shot himself in the head on November 19, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona after shooting his wife.[1] Peirce was hospitalized and died a few hours later, aged 78.[2][3]
