Healthcare in the Phillippines
Healthcare in the Philippines is provided by the national and local governments, but people mostly have to pay themselves.
The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation was started in 1995 to set up to change this. It is a tax-exempt, government-owned and controlled corporation of the Philippines. [1]
In 2013 many people are still not covered, and especially on the smaller islands access to healthcare is very difficult.[2]
