Helene Schjerfbeck

Helena Sofia (Helene) Schjerfbeck (July 10, 1862 – January 23, 1946) was a Finnish painter. She painted in realist and modernist styles. She is known for her self-portraits, landscapes and still lifes. Schjerfbeck's birthday, 10 July, is Finland's national day for the painted arts.
