Idris Ali
Idris Ali (30 December 1950 – 16 February 2024) was an Indian politician who was a Member of Parliament for the 16th Lok Sabha from Basirhat, West Bengal. He won the 2014 Indian general election as an Trinamool Congress candidate.

Idris Ali began his political career with Indian National Congress. For a long time he was the state chairman of the Congress Minority Cell. In the 2014 Indian general election, he was elected as a member of parliament from the Basirhat seat on a Trinamool Congress ticket. He won by defeating a candidate of Communist Party of India (CPI) by a margin of 109,000 votes.[2]
Death
Ali died on 16 February 2024 due to different illnesses. He was 73 years old at the time of his death. He was previously diagnosed with COVID-19 but had recovered.[3]
