Igor Smirnov
Igor Nikolaevich Smirnov (Russian: И́горь Никола́евич Смирно́в, tr. Igorʹ Nikolayevich Smirnov; Romanian: Igor Nicolaevici Smirnov; born 23 October 1941) is a Transnistrian politician. He was the first president (1991–2011) of the internationally unrecognized Pridnestrovian Moldovan Republic. He supported Transnistria becoming part of Russia.[1]
