James W. Loewen
James William Loewen (February 6, 1942 – August 19, 2021) was an American sociologist, historian, and author. He was best known for his 1995 book, Lies My Teacher Told Me: Everything Your American History Textbook Got Wrong. He was born in Decatur, Illinois. Loewen worked at the University of Vermont and The Catholic University of America.
Loewen died on August 19, 2021 at a hospital in Bethesda, Maryland from bladder cancer at the age of 79.[1]
