Jan Křen

Jan Křen (22 August 1930 – 7 April 2020) was a Czech historian, academic, and dissident. He was born in Prague. During Czechoslovakia's communist era he became a political dissident. His works focused in the study of Czech-German relations.[1][2][3] He was one of the signers of Charter 77. In 1989, Křen founded the Institute of International Studies at Charles University.

In March 2020 during the coronavirus pandemic, Křen was infected with COVID-19.[1] He died from the infection on 7 April 2020 in Prague, at the age of 89.[1][2][3]
