Javier Lozano Barragán
Javier Lozano Barragán (Spanish pronunciation: [xaˈβjeɾ loˈsano βaraˈɣan]; 26 January 1933 – 20 April 2022) was a Mexican Roman Catholic Cardinal. He was president of the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Health Care Workers from 1997 to 2009. He was made a cardinal in 2003. He was auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Mexico from 1979 to 1984 and bishop of Zacatecas from 1984 to 1996. Lozano Barragán was born in Toluca, Mexico.
Lozano Barragán died on 20 April 2022 while being hospitalized in Rome, Italy for a bowel obstruction, aged 89.[1][2]
