Jerzy Pilch

Jerzy Pilch (Polish pronunciation: [ˈjɛʐɨ ˈpilx]; 10 August 1952 – 29 May 2020) was a Polish novelist, columnist, and journalist. He was born in Wisła, Poland. In 1989, he won the Kościelski Award for his first novel.

Pilch's most successful book so far is his fourth novel Pod Mocnym Aniołem ("The Mighty Angel", 2000) and was awarded a Nike Award.

Pilch died on 29 May 2020 in Kielce, Poland of problems caused by Parkinson's disease, aged 67.[1]
