Joep Geraedts
Joep Geraedts (17 April 1948 – 25 December 2022) was a Dutch academic.

Biography
Geraedts was born in Swalmen in 1948. He studied biology at the Nijmegen University. He did his PhD research in Leiden.[1]
He was the first professor of Genetics and Cell Biology at the Maastricht University. He was a professor for more than 30 years, between 1982 and 2013. He was also founder and head of the Department of Clinical Genetics at the University Hospital of Maastricht.[2]
Geraedts died in Maastricht on 25 December 2022, at the age of 74.[1][3][2]
