John Challis

John Spurley Challis[1] (16 August 1942 – 19 September 2021) was an English actor. He was born in Bristol, England. His career began in 1964. He was best known for playing Terrance Aubrey "Boycie" Boyce in the long-running BBC Television sitcom Only Fools and Horses (1981–2003)[2] and its sequel/spin-off The Green Green Grass (2005–2009). He also played Monty Staines in the ITV sitcom Benidorm from 2015 to 2018.

On 6 September 2021, Challis announced that he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019.[3] He died two weeks later on 19 September from the disease, aged 79.[4]
