Kangla

The Palace of Kangla (Old Manipuri: ꯀꯪꯂꯥ, romanized: kang-laa, lit. 'dry land'code: omp is deprecated ) was the earliest known fortified capital city of Ancient Manipur. It served as the seat of administration of the rulers of many dynasties, right from the reign of Emperor Tangja Leela Pakhangba in 1445 BC (15th century BC), though significant advanced developments belonged to the post periods of Nongda Lairen Pakhangba (33 AD - 154 AD).
