Karl Bortoli
Karl Bortoli ( October 4, 1912 – November 19, 2010) was an Austrian football player. As a defender at Vienna, he became Austrian champion three times from 1942 to 1944. He also played for the Austria national football team.

Career
Karl Bortoli came to the then third-class Weiße Elf in 1933 via the small Viennese club Praterstern. Then he was brought into the first league by the Favoritner club FC Wien in 1935. Karl Bortoli stayed in Favoriten until the club was relegated in 1938 . After a season with SK Amateure Steyr he moved to First Vienna FC. Karl Bortoli played as striker. He then was transfered to the defense. He and Otto Kaller soon formed one of the strongest defensive duos in Austria.
Vienna was able to become Austrian champions from 1942 to 1944. 1942 they became German runners-up and in 1943 they won the German Cup against LSV Hamburg. After the end of the Second World War Karl Bortoli played internationally for Austria. Till 1947 he played seven matches as a back . He also played in the first home game after an eight-year break in 1945, the 4-1 win against France. He stayed at Vienna until the end of 1947. He was in the ÖFB Cup final in 1946.
