Kazi Monirul Kabir
Kazi Monirul Kabir is a digital transformation evangelist and a revolutionary entrepreneur with a comprehensive approach and strong empathy for emerging local realities.[1] He has worked with leading companies, including British American Tobacco, Banglalink, Grameenphone, and Google. Kabir is the owner of a digital transformation company, Spider Digital Innovation, which works on ensuring digital security. Kabir is known in the corporate world because of his objective-driven leadership and firm belief in the transformative power of technology for social good.[2] He is a member of the Forbes Technology Council.[3][4][5][6]
Early Life and Education
Kabir was born in Jashore, Bangladesh, and spent parts of his life in Chattogram and Khulna. His father was a banker, and his mother was a housemaker.
Kabir graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Khulna University. He entered the corporate world before completing his graduation.[7]
Career
For the last 20 years, Kabir has possessed a successful track record in marketing, communication, business development, innovation, strategic design, telecoms, and consumer goods industries.[8]
He started his career by securing a job with British American Tobacco in the late 1990s when he was still a BBA student.[9] He joined the company as a Channel Development Manager and left when he was a Regional Trade Marketing and Distribution Manager after working with the organization for almost seven years.[10]
In 2005, Kabir joined the sales division of Banglalink. About 3000 women representatives were deployed under his supervision who would go door to door with Banglalink SIM cards and handsets.[11]
After working with several national companies, he eventually joined Grameenphone and served as the youngest Chief Communication Officer on the management team,[12] working for five years. He became Telenor’s youngest managerial board member.[13][14][15]
In 2012, he was offered a job at Google. Working with the tech giant changed his thinking perspective. He became humble and passionate about his goal to represent his country globally. He became a technology enthusiast and wanted to start his own venture.[16]
In 2015, Kabir founded Spider Digital Innovation, where he is the Chief Innovation Officer.[17] Based in Dubai, Spider Digital Innovation works on ensuring digital security, supporting individuals and organizations with privacy, cybersecurity, and data integrity, and providing end-to-end cybersecurity and data protection. Kabir urges how data available on open-source platforms can be endangered to manipulation, be it data available on national portals or even biological and financial information that hackers can misuse through smart devices.[18][19]
His creativity and progressive approach led him to become a member of the Berlin School of Creative Leadership.[20]
In 2011, he founded a social innovation lab named Carefountain.org. He is a board member and advisor to several startups,[21][22] including Reflective Teens.[23]
Awards
Kabir won the Brand Leadership Award at the World Brand Congress held in Singapore.[24]
