KidzSearch Encyclopedia:Help with sources

Articles need important coverage

in reliable sources

that are independent of the subject.

References that are about the subject – at least one paragraph, but it is better to have more. They should not be catalogues, directory listings, or just anything that happens to have the name in it. Several sources – not just one. It must be notable.

Reliable sources

Something that is generally trusted to tell the truth. Examples are a major newspaper, a book that is factual, or a popular magazine or journal which is known for its accuracy. Blogs, MySpace, Facebook, forum/Usenet posts, fansites, or Twitter are not acceptable. It must be verifiable.

Independent

Nothing written by the subject, paid for or linked with the subject. It should not be their website, a press-release or a primary source.
