Kweme

Kweme (born 13 September) also known as Anita Osikweme Osikhena but formerly known as Aniitablonde is a Nigerian singer, model, and actress.[1][2][3] She was the host of the 2019 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)[4]

Career

Kweme ( born on the 13th of September) is an indigene of Benin, Edo state, Nigeria.[5]

In 2022, She released her single, "Toxic", [6] but was controversial according to Vanguard because of its "confrontational" message.[7] And her debut project TIS25 (This Is Still 25) was a genre-fluid extended playlist, which consists of Pop, Hip-hop, Reggae, and Trap with Afrobeats as its main basis called Afroreggaeton.[8][9] She went commercial with her music in Ghana, where she released her EP titled TIS25 (stylized as This Is Still 25) in 2022.[10][11]

In 2019, She contested in the 43rd edition of Miss Nigeria beauty pageant, Kweme represented Edo State and was the first runner-up, with Etsanyi Tukura emerging as the winner.[5][12]

Kweme was also one of two top models for Uju Estelo's release of her collection "Memoirs Of The Fearless".[13]She acted in the Nollywood movie, The Island.[14] She was the model host for the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2019.[15][16]

She pioneer a genre called Afroreggaeton, a blend of afrobeats, Afro pop, reggae, soul, dancehall, rap and spoken words.[3]
