Kyōhei Tsutsumi
Kyōhei Tsutsumi (筒美京平) (May 28, 1940 – October 7, 2020) was a well-known songwriter and pianist in Japan. He was born on May 28, 1940 in Tokyo. He made many hits such as "Blue Light Yokohama" (ブルー・ライト・ヨコハマ), "Mata Au Hi Made" (また逢う日まで), "Watashi no Kare wa Hidari-kiki" (わたしの彼は左きき), Sentimental (センチメンタル) and so on. He was awarded for his works by an official renowned medal "紫綬褒章" from Japanese government in 2003.[1][2] The number of works he wrote are more than 3,000, and he has sold over 74 million copies in total.[3]
Tsutsumi died of pneumonia on October 7, 2020 at the age of 80.[2]
