Loek Dijkman

Lodewijk Theodorus Lambertus "Loek" Dijkman (22 February 1942 – 1 November 2024) was a Dutch business person and philanthropist.

Dijkman was the founder of the music centre Orgelpark [nl] in the Parkkerk, Amsterdam. He also ensured the preservation of the Arboretum De Dreijen [nl], which he took over from the Wageningen University and started the a statue galary Beeldengalerij Het Depot [nl] there. On the Hooglandse Kerkgracht [nl] in Leiden, Stichting Utopa that was founded by Dijkman, owns the historic Holy Spirit Orphanage, the oldest parts of which date back to the fifteenth century. After a thorough renovation, the building has been used by Stichting Utopa as the Utopa Orphanage/Children's Rights House since 2010.[1][2][3][4][5]

He has been awarded several times for his commitment to art and culture in the Netherlands, including the Zilveren Anjer [nl] in 2008.

Dijkman died in Leiden on 1 November 2024, at the age of 82.[2][3]
