The Loktantrik Samajwadi Party, Nepal (Nepali: लोकतान्त्रिक समाजवादी पार्टी), is the sixth largest political party in Nepal.

Establishment

The party was officially registered at Election Commission, Nepal on 18 August 2021.[1][2] Mahantha Thakur is the president of the new party.[3] The party was formed after split in PSP-N to join KP Oli led government.


Currently, the party stands as the fourth largest party of Madhesh Province after Nepali Congress, CPN (UML) and Janata Samajbadi respectively.[4]

Allies

As of August 2021, the party is a junior ally in the Nepali Congress-led Deuba government along with CPN (Maoist Centre), PSP-N, and CPN (Unified Socialist).[5] The party's election symbol is a bicycle.[6]
