Look on Tempests
Look On Tempests was a 1960 play by Joan Henry. It was at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End. It showed a man who was accused of gross indecency, and the effect it had on his upper middle class.[1] It was the first play that dealt with homosexuality to be approved for performance by the Lord Chamberlain. The year before that, Lord Chamberlain started to allow movies on the subject.[2]
The cast of the original production had Vanessa Redgrave and Gladys Cooper. It was not a success with audiences.[3] It ran for 30 performances.[4]
