Career
Gugganig started in 2002 in the youth ranks of SC Mühldorf in Carinthia. From there he moved to the FC Red Bull Salzburg academy in 2009. 2012/13 season he was transferred to FC Liefering. He made his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga on April 12, 2015 in the 3-3 away match against SK Rapid Wien.
For the 2015/16 season he moved to the German second division club FSV Frankfurt. After relegation with Frankfurt in 2016, he moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth. [1] For the 2019/20 seasonhe went to VfL Osnabrück. [2]
Gugganig returned to Austria for the 2022/23 season and moved to Bundesliga club SCR Altach. [3]
International
Lukas Gugganig played international matches for the Austrian youth national teams from U16 to U19. With the U19 national team he qualified for the 2014 European Championships in Hungary. His strong performances led to him being called up to the Austrian U21 team.
