Magenta is a city in northern Italy. Magenta is in the Lombardy Region. About 25,000 people live there.
The city is notable as the site of the Battle of Magenta in 1859. The color magenta comes its name from the battle.
Magenta is the birthplace of Saint Gianna Beretta Molla (1922–1962) and movie producer Carlo Ponti (1912–2007).
