Mahmood Alam
Mahmood Alam is an Indian political activist and social worker associated with the Rashtriya Jankranti Morcha. He is known for his long-standing involvement in the Jharkhand Movement and has contested multiple times from the Mandu Assembly constituency in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand.

Early life and activism
Mahmood Alam hails from Mandu, a mining region in Hazaribagh district. Since the 1990s, he has been associated with the grassroots movement demanding the creation of a separate Jharkhand state.[1]
He was part of several local forums that supported the Jharkhandi identity and socio-economic rights for coal workers, displaced persons, and tribal communities.[2]
Political career
Alam began contesting elections in the 2000s as an Independent. Over the years, he has been affiliated with various political groups representing labor and regional interests, including the Samata Party, Bharatiya Mazdoor Party, and later as a founding member of Rashtriya Jankranti Morcha.
He is also the National General Secretary and spokesperson of the Rashtriya Jankranti Morcha (RJM), a regional party advocating Jharkhandi rights and socio-political representation of backward and minority communities.[3]
