The people of the Mandi Valley and particularly in the major city of Mandi speak the language. Other spellings for the name are Mandiyali and Mandiali. UNESCO says it is a highly endangered language.[1] Speakers of the dialect have decreased by 21% from 1961 to 2001. In 2011, there were between 600,000 and 650,000 speakers.
