Margaret Sanger

Margaret Sanger (September 14, 1879–September 6, 1966) born Margaret Hennessy Higgins, was the founder of Planned Parenthood. She was a leading birth control activist, feminist, nurse, and sex educator. Her father was Irish. She helped finance biologist Gregory Pincus's creation of the birth control pill. She married twice, first to architect William Sanger,[2] then to J. Noah Slee, a South African born oil tycoon.
