Marietta, Ohio
Marietta is a city in Ohio in the United States. It is the county seat of Washington County. 13,385 people lived there in the 2020 census.
The Muskingum River and Duck Creek flow into the Ohio River at Marietta.

Rufus Putnam was George Washington's chief engineer. After the Revolutionary War, he led the first settlers to Marietta, erected the Campus Martius fort, and established the Northwest Territory as free soil - no slavery.
