McGill Street (Vancouver)

McGill Street is a street in Vancouver. McGill Street is located in East Vancouver.

McGill Street was built in 1974.[1] McGill Street is named after McGill University in Montreal, Quebec.[2] The street features mainly residential houses. In its early years, a streetcar used to run through McGill Street on its way to the Pacific National Exhibition (PNE).[3]

Much of the peak morning traffic heading southbound off of Highway 1 runs through McGill Street from the freeway of the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing.[4][5]

McGill Park is located in the Grandview-Woodland on McGill Street.[6] The street is also known for the many katsura trees that span the length of the road.[7]
