Narges Mohammadi

Naerges Mohammadi (born 21 April 1972) is an Iranian human rights activist ans scientist.

She is the vice president of the Defenders of Human Rights Contre (DHRC) established by Shirin Ebadi. She has worked for women's rights and abolition of death penalty. She had been and is imprisoned because of political oppression.

In 2023, she won Nobel Peace Prize for "her fight against oppression of women in Iran and her fight to promote human rights and freedom for all"[1]

In 1999, she married a journalist Taghi Rahmani and they have twin children.
